4/14/20 – Coronavirus Update from Town Administrator and Selectmen

DATE: April 14, 2020 at 3:00pm
FROM: Town Administrator and Selectmen

It’s been a few days since the last update. Unfortunately, there has been 1 additional positive case which puts our total at 4 tested-positive and 1 death due to Coronavirus.

At last night’s Select Board meeting the Selectmen voted to move the Town Election to Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The Board also encourages voters to take advantage of absentee voting. Contact the Town Clerk for more information about absentee ballots.

Everyone in town is doing a great job practicing social distancing and we encourage you over the next three weeks – if you must go out in public – please wear a mask. Many stores have implemented the new regulations that went into effect today about limiting the number of people in a store at one time so please be prepared that you may have to wait.

During this difficult time, when stress-levels and anxiety and depression are running high, we encourage you all to remember: kindness is also contagious. We need to not take out our frustrations on town or state employees, store workers, store patrons, delivery personnel…anyone. We are all in this same boat, and while the water is rocky now, this too shall pass.

Keep checking in on your family, friends and neighbors. We all need each other.
