Chester-Blandford Police Department (Full-Time)
The Towns of Chester & Blandford are seeking to hire a full time Chief of Police who will be considered a “Working Chief” and will serve both communities in the capacity of, and having responsibility for the Chester-Blandford Police Department (CBPD). The CBPD was established as part of an inter-municipal agreement and it is expected to be a continuous and sustainable department both short and long term. This position will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining a professional and courteous police department for the Towns and will work under the direction of the Select Boards, designated oversight committee and the Town Administrators. The Town of Chester MA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Treasurer.
Position Summary: The Town Treasurer maintains custody of all town funds (which includes a municipal water department and electric company). Responsibilities include the Towns’ investment, cash management, debt service management, tax title management, issuance of bonds and administration of payroll including benefits and related personnel requirements. Qualifications include working knowledge of municipal procedures relevant to the position and experience in finance. Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounts and three years of experience in the field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Individual must be bondable.

The Town of Chester seeks qualified applicants for the position of Driver – Laborer in the Highway Department. This position operates trucks and other equipment used in public works projects: Operate 41,000 lb. commercial dump truck; haul materials; load materials; operate jackhammer, roller, paving equipment and roadside mower; Operates vehicles providing roadway snow removal and sanding; 41,000 lb. dump truck w/wing plow; plows, sands and salts streets and sidewalks; Repairs water mains and drainage systems; Performs manual labor required for assigned work projects and incidental to operating assigned equipment; Works preforming maintenance and light service of trucks and equipment.
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in public works construction and maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver’s License and 2A License required, Class A CDL and 4G License preferred.
