BOIL WATER ORDER

Attention Chester Water Customers: Do not drink your water without boiling it first. We have a large leak and have lost water. We do not have safe water pressure in the system. This can cause backflows and result in bacterial contamination.

Discard ice, juice, formula, and food that were prepared using tap water collected on or after Wednesday July 6, 2022 as it may be unsafe.

If you have water: Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and viruses in the water.

Contamination from bacteria and viruses can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches. They may pose a special health risk for infants, young children, some of the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems. If you have specific health concerns, consult your doctor.

We have asked for water buffaloes. We are working to refill the water storage clearwell and are working to identify the problems and correct them.

You will be informed when the boil water requirement is lifted or when new information is available.
