The Chester Water Commissioners met with representatives from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection today at the water treatment plant.
After reviewing water system data DEP decided to issue an order for water customers on the Chester Water Department System to boil their water for the time being.
This order does not apply to people who have their own wells.
The Board of Selectmen and the Water Commissioners will offer bottled water to Chester Water Department customers.
