Water Dept Update – December 2025

As 2025 draws to a close, Chester Water Dept is pleased to report ongoing infrastructure upgrade/replacement are progressing well. Water quality concerns, which had gone UN-addressed for decades, as defined by DBP/Disinfection By-Products, have finally become managed. For four consecutive Quarters and for the first time ever, we are not in violation of the Annual Average for DBP’s. As we approach building the FY ’27 Water Budget necessary to continue our positive Rescue to Renewal trend toward a sustainable future, the following emergent priorities will be discussed at a soon TBD Water Commission meeting.

The discussion will include, but not be limited to:
• Additional OIT…in anticipation of a Retirement
• Replacement of 800′ of piping intake at Horn Pond
• Hiring a PT Shared Grant Writer
• Groundwater Test Wells
• Repair of Horn Pond access Road
• Cleaning 2000’ piping to POE…eliminate Mn residual build-up

Please watch for posting of this meeting and join the discussion.
