Common questions

  • Why do I need to fill this out every year?

Massachusetts state law requires that each town compile an annual street list. This ensures towns keep up-to-date lists of where residents live for various reasons including school enrollment, residency, grant purposes, etc.

  • What if I don’t fill this out?

The Town Clerk is required to send a second notice to your household and if not returned, voters listed in that household may be marked inactive.

  • Is the information confidential?

The Commonwealth maintains the security of the system with multiple layers of password protection. Only a few people that work for the Town Hall are authorized to access the information, i.e. Town Clerk, etc.

  • Who should complete the form?

Any adult residing in the home can complete and sign the form.
